Overview

The Social Media & Marketing Manager is responsible for managing Viceroy Hotels & Residences' portfolio of brand-owned social media channels while supporting the day-to-day operations of the Brand Marketing team. This role owns the execution of the brand's social media strategy, oversees content planning, publishing, community management, reporting, and marketing operations, and ensures consistent brand execution across the portfolio. Reporting to the Senior Brand Director and working closely with the Brand Marketing team, Graphic Designer, and property marketing teams, this position combines social media expertise with strong organizational and project management skills to support both the corporate brand and hotel portfolio.

Responsibilities

Social Media Management 

  • Own and manage Viceroy's brand-owned social media accounts, including Viceroy Hotels, Viceroy Santa Monica, and any future corporate or brand-owned social media channels. 
  • Execute the brand's social strategy, voice, and creative direction established by the Senior Brand Director. 
  • Develop and maintain the social media content calendar, including campaigns, key brand moments, editorial themes, and posting cadence. 
  • Write engaging, on-brand social copy and publish content across all assigned platforms. 
  • Monitor platform trends, emerging features, and best practices, making recommendations to optimize performance. 
  • Manage day-to-day community engagement across all brand-owned accounts. 

Marketing Operations 

  • Manage the department's marketing asset library, ensuring files and creative assets remain organized and accessible.  Own the day-to-day platform stack used by Brand Marketing: social scheduling and publishing, the asset library, and creative tool licenses. Work within Monday.com boards maintained by digital support, keeping Brand Marketing tasks, owners, and dates current. 
  • Coordinate project timelines, approvals, and deliverables for Brand Marketing initiatives. Route creative for sign-off, track outstanding approvals, and flag slipped dates. Does not include budget ownership, agency scoping, or creative direction. 
  • Maintain the social reporting infrastructure: pull monthly and campaign-level data from platform analytics into a standing dashboard, own the campaign naming conventions and UTM tagging that let results roll up by property and region, and keep platform connections, permissions, and refresh schedules running.  
  • Support cross-functional communication in support of Brand Marketing team including but not limited to Viceroy Residences and Viceroy DISCOVERY membership support. 

Campaign Management & Portfolio Support 

  • Coordinate and execute brand-level social campaigns in partnership with the Graphic Designer and Brand Marketing team. 
  • Lead the social media setup and launch process for all new hotel openings, including account creation, platform configuration, branding, governance, and launch readiness. 
  • Provide oversight and support during hotel openings to ensure new social channels align with brand standards and best practices. 
  • Develop, maintain, and implement social media playbooks, templates, and guidelines for property marketing teams. 
  • Provide training and ongoing guidance to property teams to ensure consistent execution across the portfolio. 
  • Support additional portfolio-wide marketing initiatives as needed. 

Analytics & Performance 

  • Track social media performance and prepare regular reports with actionable insights. 
  • Monitor campaign results and optimize content based on data and platform performance. 
  • Test new content formats, posting strategies, and engagement tactics to continually improve results. 
  • Maintain consistent reporting on brand marketingdigital and social media performance for leadership. 

 

 

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent preferred
  • some experience in New York market preferred)
  • Experience in a luxury/lifestyle hotel background required
  •  3–5+ years in social media marketing, with experience managing multi-platform strategies, paid advertising, and cross-functional collaboration. 
  • Staying up-to-date with social media trends, platform updates, and best practices
  • Pre-opening experience a plus
  • Strong strategic thinking and project management skills with the ability to lead multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Ability to develop and curate engaging text, images, and video content that aligns with brand identity
  • Proven experience in social media management, digital marketing, or content creation.
  • Strong communication, creativity, analytical thinking, and proficiency with social media management tools and analytics platforms
