Overview

We are seeking an Area General Manager to oversee Hotel Zena and Viceroy Washington D.C.

Responsibilities

General Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide leadership of the day-to-day operations of the hotels including Human Resources, Rooms, Engineering, Sales and Marketing, Revenue, Food and Beverage, Culinary and Finance departments.
  • Develop the overall strategy for both hotels to maximize guest satisfaction, service standards, colleague satisfaction and financial performance.
  • Promote efficient operating procedures to provide flawless guest experiences; actively engage with guests from arrival to departure.
  • Maintain a high level of service in all areas to both our internal and external guests.
  • Directly supervise, develop, maintain and support individual performance and group dynamics of all Executive Committee members.
  • Resolve problems and communicate to ensure consistency and memorable guest service, and ensure strong, positive communication flow among colleagues.
  • Promote a positive work environment by ensuring the appropriate staffing levels are in place, the continuous training of colleagues, recognition, mentoring and coaching. 
  • Analyze daily revenues, sales strategy, labor reports, guest satisfaction reviews, and monthly expenses to ensure execution of business plan, profitability and focus and attention of management team.
  • Excelling at revenue generation and cost control to meet and/or exceed budgetary requirements
  • Proactive approach to revenue maximization and cost savings initiatives
  • Represent the brands in the market, building strong community relations for the benefit of the properties and their stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships/public relations with neighbors, vendors, and hospitality competitors.
  • Ensure property compliance with legal, safety, operations, and labor and employment laws
  • Full adherence to Viceroy Hotel Group service standards
  • Drive service excellence and guest satisfaction scores
  • Maintain a balanced relationship between owner and management company, focusing on transparency, innovation and an entrepreneurial approach to business.

Qualifications

Qualification Standards:

  • A minimum of 5-7 years of previous experience as a General Manager (Lifestyle hotel environment preferred)
  • Previous experience in an Area/Regional Role preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent preferred
  • Self-Motivated and drives for results
  • Financially astute
  • Adaptable and flexible
